Brilliant description of the situation, which I dare say is even worse than that which has been revealed. "there’s no need to cut off the head of the snake when the snake is swallowing its own tail" And the terrible truth of the bit that shows that the UK is very close to doing the same thing shows also that this is a problem of, as much as against, democracy in the USA and Europe. We have been willing the conditions of our destruction for decades. It was inherent in the slow journey of the word 'liberal' over 250 years from freedom of thought towards capitalist dictatorship
I continue to find the apathy of the vast mass of Americans baffling. Are they just not being told what is happening - unless they too are following substack writers? Is what they want to happen, but maybe without them realising the full consequences? Or do they just not care?
