The US has no left, to speak of, never mind a coalition. Its system lends itself to attack by a bad faith actor. The other country that does of course, is the one that gave FPTP to the US. The UK is equally vulnerable to Trump's messenger boy, Farage.
I think Starmer would get that, but I don't feel he has the mindset to introduce PR, which, whilst giving the Far Right a potential foothold, would prevent them from wielding supreme power, as has been shown in France.
