Nothing sums it up better than the photos of abandoned tents, flags and general crap littering The Mall. We've had our fun; Someone Else will sort out the consequences.
Natch the bunting nonces have said it's no different to what the sneering liberal metropolitan elite routinely do at Glastonbury. Except it *is* different because, or so I'm told, the price of a ticket for Glastonbury includes an element to pay for the clean-up.
The Royals must’ve noticed the presentation of their “new paint smell” Potemkin Kingdom to be getting a touch tatty at the edges.
Suspect the volunteering they would like is to address the look of the place.
It might take a long time or very little, but it won’t hold forever - suspect the Windsors will wish for a brief Carolean Age and hope to gull the generations he can’t reach with Camelot Willy and the Disney Kids.
Yes. But it is all part of the absolutely dumbfounding degree of false consciousness exhibited by the mass of the English people. What happened to the wave of revolutionary militancy they showed just before WW 1? I suppose it's still there in the determination shown just now by the nurses and railwaymen, etc. - but it never seems to go further than 'wages and working conditions'. The basic causes of these poor wages and conditions is never examined, despite there being plenty of books describing that. I despair.
Excellent
