A helpful reminder of the story of Algeria and Camus's observations.
When a supposed Professor of War Studies can write only about 'deterrence' as an Israeli policy, with next to no reference to the experiences of Palestinians at the hands of Israelis, you have you wonder whether he has ever studied the history of conflict and terrorism. Algeria or elsewhere.
An illustration of the selectivity and one sidedness that typifies so much of the commentary that one reads. Endeavouring to understand the wider context and history and the real difficulties involved in resolving these situations is studiously avoided.
Thanks Matt
I watched The Battle of Algiers the other week. Definitely see what the hype was about
Must be difficult for you to write with your connection to Gaza but please kerp posting
